EMI: Animal & Environment Receives Its First Index Inclusion

EMI: Animal & Environment (EMI:AE) is proud to announce its official inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) which is the first time EMI:AH is included in a global journal index.

DOAJ is a comprehensive global directory that indexes high-quality, peer-reviewed open access journals. Its mission is to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, and impact of open access scholarly content worldwide.

EMI: AE is a peer-reviewed open access journal publishing cutting-edge scientific research on emerging pathogenic organisms from animals or the environment that possess inter- and intra-species transmission potential, with a specific focus on those influenced by environmental changes. It builds on the legacy of its sister journal Emerging Microbes & Infections (EMI), a global leading scientific journal in the field of human emerging infectious diseases, and expands the horizons of emerging infectious disease research to report novel findings on the growing importance of animal-based infections and environmental impact on both human and animal pathogens. The journal publishes research covering animal disease outbreaks, environmental sources, molecular diagnostics, host defense, vaccine and drug development, antimicrobial resistance, and pandemic preparedness.

“Being indexed in DOAJ is a major milestone for EMI: AE,” said Editor-in-Chief Prof. Jürgen A. Richt of Kansas State University. “It underscores our commitment to open science and will significantly amplify the global reach of research that bridges animal health, environmental factors, and human well-being.”

EMI: AE is fully open access and currently offers a 100% Article Processing Charge (APC) discount for all authors. All articles are published under CC BY or CC BY-NC licenses and are permanently archived.

We will continue our efforts to uphold the highest standards of quality and open science. In the coming years, we look forward to achieving additional prestigious indexations such as PubMed Central (PMC), Web of Science, and Scopus, further enhancing the journal’s global visibility, impact, and contribution.
